Rock In Prevention Golf Classic

Dear Friends of Rock In Prevention,

We’re as ecstatic as a golfer making a hole in one! Rock In Prevention’s (Rock) first-ever Golf Classic, held September 8, 2007, was a success by all measures. We surpassed our best expectations with 96 golfers, a major sponsor, 21 tee and hole sponsors, nearly 50 auction items, and we finished in the “green”, netting $30,000.

With the endeavors of our Board of Directors, nearly two-dozen onsite volunteers and many others, we’ve set the foundation for a future that will ensure Rock continues to teach young people the skills to live happy, healthy lives as Rock has done the past 17 years. Our goal for the 2008 Rock In Prevention Golf Classic is to attract the maximum number of 144 golfers and obtain all sponsorship levels to underwrite tournament expenses.

Rock is evidence-based, efficient and fun. Rock has helped more than one-million children and families since 1990. Our sponsors enjoy significant positive exposure.
Rock trains local high school mentors that with Rock staff teach younger elementary school students how to refuse alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. Rock incorporates lesson plans with music, interactivity and the arts as teaching tools along with follow-up teacher and family materials and testing of effectiveness. Students, high school mentors, school administrators, counselors and teachers praise this upbeat, high impact program as truly making a difference.

The tournament will be August 23, 2008 at Terrace Hills Golf Course in Altoona
with an 8AM Shotgun start.
